miss sara adams had a great post yesterday.  if i could figure out how to put a link on here, i'd like you to it...  (her thing is SaraAdams)  but it got me thinking...

i found an old friend on facebook recently.  haha....  yes, i guess i was facebook stalking.

let me tell you a little about him.  i switched schools halfway through kindergarten, and i was extremely nervous walking into the first day.  but when i did, it was like god was shining down his light on this boy.  as a five year-old, i heard the hallelujah chorus, and i just knew i was in love.  hahahahahaha......  anyway, we became friends, as did our parents, and throughout grade school my parents spent a lot of time with his.  to make a long story short, he moved away after 4th grade, but i had a crush on him UNTIL I WAS A FRESHMAN IN HIGH SCHOOL.  the funny part?  he never knew.  pretty hilarious if you ask me.

well, obviously we all move on with life, and i had pretty much not given much thought to it until i saw him on  a friend's facebook profile, and well, we're now facebook friends...

but that's not the important part.  this post may not make one bit of sense to you guys, but it does to me.  as sara pointed out, it's absolutely AMAZING how we all change and grow throughout life.  when i was in grade school, jr. high and high school, i could tell you exactly who i was going to marry.  yes, it was "hallelujah chorus boy" from kindergarten.  i spent so much time dwelling on something that wasn't meant to be and never going to happen.  when i finally let go of that silly (yet, somehow extremely funny now) thought, i let God finally take control of that part of my life.  and look what he provided.  an amazing, godly man for me- and the best part?!  HE KNOWS I EXIST!!!

i don't want to give off the impression that my whole life was about this one boy, because it definitely wasn't.  i just wanted to remind you all that, if you're holding one part of your life back from God, it can alter the entire thing.

let Him make you grow.  don't try to stay in the past, clinging on to things that aren't going to matter in 10 years.  we're in college.  we're growing and changing and maturing and God has amazing plans for us.  LET GO.  He won't let you fall, i promise.

i have SIX things due today, a midterm tomorrow and a big project due on thursday.  i love school.

last night, i spent a good part of the evening with mrs. bethy zettler.  we watched "new york minute" because it was something the guys would NEVER in a million years watch with us...  it was a pretty bad movie.  in fact, we were wondering who let them put it in theaters...  not good.

in other news...  my hair is falling out.  i'm really not kidding.  my mom and i started freaking out this weekend because my hair is coming out in big clumps in the shower and when i brush it.  i'm hoping it's just stress, but i've never had this happen before.  i don't have time to go to health services, so i'm not sure what to do.  i know it's so random, but it kind-of makes me scared.

let me share a little of a phone conversation i shared with my 13 year old (8th grade- for all you slow people out there...) sister earlier this evening...

(just to let you know-- the sharing of this story was inspired by my good friend elise's amazing post on jr. highers)

kirsten (my sister):  lexie?

lexie:  yes, kirsten?

kirsten: i kind-of had a bad day today...

lexie: (since this gets used pretty much every time i speak with kirsten, i rolled my eyes, sighed, took a deep breath and followed the lead) oh really?  (dryly) why was that, kirsten?

kirsten: well, i took my bible to school today, and it didn't turn out so well.

lexie:  (this caught my attention- my voice softens) what happened?  why didn't it turn out so well?

kirsten:  well, i took it to school and people made fun of me...

lexie:  that's alright, kirst.  people made fun of me when i took my bible to school.  but it doesn't matter!  jesus wants us to read the bible and think of Him wherever we are.  but you know what, kirsten?

kirsten:  what?

lexie:  jesus got made fun of even more than we could ever imagine.  people made fun of Him his whole life, but that didn't stop Him.

kirsten:  ummm...  lexie?  i don't think jesus got made fun of more than anyone else.

lexie:  yes, i think He definitely did, sis.

kirsten:  ummm...  no.  lots more people get made fun of more than that.

lexie:  no, kirsten, i really don't think so.

kirsten:  yes-huh.  you make fun of me more times in one week than jesus ever got made fun of.  remember how you used to call me pooper-scooper all the time?  i bet jesus was never called that.  (this might be funnier to you if you understood that she was DEAD SERIOUS...)

HOW SAD!!!!!!!!!  haha.....  my sister thinks she's worse off than jesus ever was.  what a confused little kid.  hahahahahaha...

i told my mom and she laughed for about five minutes over the phone...

maybe it's not funny to you, but i guess you have to know how my sister is and thinks to get this completely.  a few of you will find it funny.  if not, i just entertained myself for 10 minutes typing out this amazingly jr. high conversation...

new profile pic...  it's one of our engagement pictures.

i haven't seen anyone in so long!!!  where are you all??

greenville finally got facebook, and it made me realize just how much i miss all my gc friends...
